  • Frederic Michard is a Critical Care MD, PhD, who trained in Paris University Hospitals and in Boston, USA (Mass General Hospital-Harvard Medical School). He is known for his research work on pulse pressure variation (PPV) and fluid responsiveness (>9,000 citations on Google scholar) and as the architect of acclaimed graphical displays for hemodynamic monitors. During his career, he gave >500 invited lectures on heart-lung interactions, hemodynamic monitoring, fluid management, and more recently on digital innovations, mobile monitoring, smartphone medical applications and wearable sensors. In 2016, he founded MiCo (michardconsulting.com), a Swiss consulting and research firm focusing on monitoring innovations. He recently published an International survey on hemodynamic monitoring and management in COVID-19.
