  • Dr. Linda Shore-Lesserson is Professor of Anesthesiology at Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra-Northwell, and director of Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology at Northshore University Hosopital in Manhasset, NY. Dr. Shore-Lesserson graduated from the University of Pennsylvania where she graduated magna cum laude and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa honorary society. She also received her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania and trained in anesthesiology and cardiothoracic anesthesiology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology and National Board of Echocardiography. Dr. Shore-Lesserson is a clinical and an academic cardiac anesthesiologist who is a Past President of the Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists (SCA). She is also previous Chair of the Advanced Perioperative Echocardiography Examination Writing Committee and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the National Board of Echocardiography. She is a board member on the American Heart Association Surgery and Anesthesia Council (CVSA) and she is a fellow of the American Heart Association. Within Anesthesiology, Dr. Shore-Lesserson was the Chairperson for the Cardiovascular Track for the Annual Meeting of the American Society of Anesthesiologists from 2007-2011. She is a past- chair of the ASA Committee on Patient Blood Management, and is the current Vice Chair of the Committee on Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesia. She currently serves as a director on the Board of the Society for the Advancement of Blood Management (SABM). She is the anesthesiology lead working with the STS and Perfusion societies on an interdisciplinary project “Best Practices in Perfusion Management”. She serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesia having served as Section Editor of the Case Conference Section and Literature Review sections of this journal in the past. Research interests lie in the field of hemostasis and thrombosis as it relates to cardiovascular disease. The results of her research have been published in high impact peer reviewed journals and she lectures frequently at national and international scientific meetings.
