I would like to invite all the members of the Korean Society of Anesthesiologists and all anesthesiologists from around the world to KoreAnesthesia 2020. How hard is it to protect the health of the people from the unprecedented COVID-19? In particular, I would like to express my gratitude and encouragement to the Anesthesiologists who are dedicated to treating COVID-19 patients and who care for patients with anesthesia and pain in this difficult situations.

KSA, which has been working on patient safety, has become more interested in infection control with COVID-19, and our role is also highlighted in the management of critical patients. Due to COVID-19, various conferences in Korea and around the world have been canceled or postponed, and due to social distances, the existing conference format has changed to an on-line format, and the new normal era is inevitable. However, despite these changes in the times, our role in education and research cannot be stopped, but rather, we believe that an era in which information exchange and cooperation around the world is needed is opening up.

KoreAnesthesia 2020 has made many preparations to overcome these difficulties and make a successful international conference this year. We are looking forward to satisfying your academic needs with various content, including issues related to COVID-19, updates of the latest knowledge of anesthesia and pain medicine. Although it is difficult for foreigners to participate directly, we will satisfy your inconvenience through on-line lectures.

We are preparing thorough prevention to prevent the spread of COVID-19, but we ask that all members keep their personal prevention. We ask that you refrain from socializing through face-to-face contact, even though it is an important role of the KoreAnesthesia 2020.

In order for KoreAnesthesia 2020 to become a new conference in a new era, we ask for your participation and support.

The Korean Society of Anesthesia and Pain Medicine International Conference will be held in November 2020, following the challenges of Corona.

I think this international conference will be an opportunity for the development of anesthesia and pain medicine in the world as well as the Korean Society for Anesthesia and Pain Medicine by sharing the research activities of members.

In addition, we have prepared a valuable place to invite experts from around the world and share knowledge for anesthesia management, critical care, and pain treatment for patient safety.

In particular, the Korean Society for Anesthesia and Pain Medicine prepares the best to be an academic conference that can guarantee the safety of members despite the many difficulties caused by covid-19.
