The low COVID-19 infections trend became solid
Daily new COVID-19 infection cases stayed below 100 for 2 days in a row.
Despite of this downward trend, KCDC extended the level 2 social distancing policy to Sept. 27. Also, they announced that untraceable cases and cluster infections are still concerned.
The KoreAnesthesia 2020 Organizing Committee is monitoring COVID-19 situation and will provide the most up-to-date information. We sincerely hope you all stay safe and be healthy.

Newly COVID-19 confirmed cases declining in Korea
Lately in Korea, COVID-19 infections have shown an overall downward trend.
Fortunately, the number of newly reported cases appears to be declining. However, KCDC and health officials still urge the public to remain vigilant and continue social distancing. In general, the government's management of virus are producing a hopeful outcome, and the people are actively cooperating.
We hope that our efforts to prevent COVID-19 in Korea will bring about good results and that we will be able to meet you with better news. The KoreAnesthesia 2020 Organizing Committee also watch the situation closely. Please take care of your health. We hope you have a safe day from diseases.

The social distancing policy was temporarily strengthened
In response to recent national COVID-19 situation, the KCDC announced a strengthened social distancing policy (so-called level 2.5) in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do (including Incheon) from Aug 30(Sun) to Sep 6(Sun).
Under the strengthened policy, the franchise coffee chains can provide only takeaway or delivery services. Restaurants and bakeries are allowed to operate until 9 p.m. Around 28,000 indoor sports facilities, such as gyms and public swimming pools, will also be closed during the social distancing campaign.
The KoreAnesthesia 2020 Organizing Committee also considers this situation as the most priority and has close eyes on the changes. Please stay healthy and take good care of yourself and your family well. We will inform you if there are any updates or changes, ASAP.

The level of social distancing policy increased
Since last week, the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Korea surged.
As a result, the government increased social distancing level from 1 to 2 in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do (including Incheon) for two weeks from Aug 16(Sun). The KCDC is keeping a close eye on the situation and taking various actions.
The KoreaAnesthesia 2020 Organizing Committee is also close monitoring current situation. Although we hope the situation would stabilize soon, we also consider the possibility of the secondary spread of COVID-19. We will let you know about any changes or decisions made ASAP. Notice of the Hosting of Hybrid Meeting
After close monitoring of the current situation of COVID-19 pandemic and considering the safety of all participants, we have made an important decision to hold KoreAnesthesia 2020 as an online & offline hybrid meeting.
All international attendees should register and participate online. Domestic attendees can participate offline, as usual, however, some programs might be accessible online only. We will keep updating further developments regarding registration, programs and virtual attendance. The meeting will be a great adventure that you will not want to miss.

Statement of KoreAnesthesia 2020 in regards of Current COVID-19 Situation
We hope that you and your loved ones are in good health under the COVID-19 pandemic. As we all know, COVID-19 has imposed unprecedented changes in our personal and professional lives.
It has been announced already that both Euroanaesthesia 2020 and ASA annual meeting will go virtual. For KoreAnesthesia 2020 (November 05 – 07, Paradise City, Incheon, Korea), the organizing committee of the Korean Society of Anesthesiologists is closely monitoring the worldwide situation of COVID-19 pandemic and will take an immediate action to protect our anesthesiologists, nurses, and healthcare providers against the global coronavirus pandemic.
